Symbiote 0304: Chaos Core
Once dinner was over, Alex got up and said, “I apologize, something came up with work, I have to get going. Dinner was amazing, Mrs. Stacy. Thank you. Bye, Gwen.” Alex kissed Gwen goodbye and ran off.
[What the hell?] Gwen asked.
[I’m going to be gone for a while, Gwen. Try not to panic. Something’s just come up.]
[Damnit. Just be safe, okay, dumbass?]
[Promise.]
…
A week later.
“Phew, things got dangerous there —“
“Ahh!” Gwen screamed in panic and punched Alex’s face, creating a shockwave that almost broke the wall and actually broke the windows.
“Real mature,” Alex grabbed Gwen’s fist and lowered it.
“You’re back,” Gwen hugged him tightly, burying her face in his neck.
Alex was a little surprised at her reaction but gently put his arms around her waist, “Did you miss me?”
“You have no idea …” Gwen tightened her arms even more and spoke with her face close to his neck. “Where were you?”
“There was an issue with Wanda that needed me to give it all of my attention. Stuff related to the Chaos Dimension.”
“Sounds dangerous.”
“Not going to lie, it was very dangerous. But on the bright side, I got something special out of the whole altercation. The dimensional core.”
“…Dimensional core …” Gwen trailed off. “Dimensional core …” She pulled back from his arms and looked him dead in the eye, “You destroyed a dimension?”
“Not exactly,” Alex said with a confused expression. “It’s more like Wanda assimilated a quarter of the dimension while the other three quarters disappeared into non-existence. We could say that Wanda replaced the core of the dimension with herself.”
“And the inhabitants? You told me that the Chaos Dimension has many natives living there, right?”
“All dead. But Wanda has their codex saved. All of those species can be revived save for the leaders, who were hostile to her anyway, so good riddance.”
“You mentioned a Dimensional Core,” Gwen decided to push the thought of dimensional genocide to the back of her head. “How is that relevant to us?”
“From what Wanda tells me, the core essence of the Chaos Dimension works very similarly to our theory regarding cosmic energy. As the Chaos Dimension grew and the creatures within prospered, the core of the dimension slowly grew with them. According to its history, its growth was greater during the more turbulent times of the dimension when wars were rampant, and the residents were desperate and hopeful at the same time. While during the more calm periods, where the residents grew complacent, slowed down the growth of the core.”
“So we need people to die for them to generate cosmic energy …” Gwen summarized dryly.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
“You don’t get it. It’s about how they are dying. Those deaths matter. They die with passion, with conviction. These emotions are what make things matter. In times of high emotional instability, its growth is greater while stability slows down growth.”
“If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, Alex, then you are going to play a sick game. One that I will not become a part of,” She stepped back and wrapped her arms around herself, looking away from Alex.
“It is the best way to accelerate the planet’s growth, Gwen. An external enemy will be the perfect catalyst.”
“I don’t condone this. You will create an existential war that will throw the entire world into a panic. The death count will be in the tens of millions over the years. I agree that you will get your so-called Apex empire and all that, but at what cost?”
“That is the only way to accelerate evolution, Gwen. I could spend a few decades working to take over the world slowly to bring world peace, yes. But without desperation, without the existential crisis, the empire will grow completely stagnant, and I will be the sole person spearheading everything. And the only reason I am so motivated is because of my desperation. I may create an artificial existential crisis, yes, but that crisis is nothing in front of what drives me. You know that already.”
“It will be success built on countless dead people.”
“I already have the blood of over a million people on my hands, Gwen. And that’s without counting the billions or trillions of lives that were lost when the Chaos Dimension was destroyed. My conscience is infallible. You don’t need to think about this, nor do you need to be involved in this if you don’t want to. You can just help me research cosmic energy so that I can finally start to harness it.”
“…” Gwen sighed, the defeat in her voice was particularly piercing. “I can’t just pretend that I don’t have a hand in what you are doing, Alex. But … I understand where you’re coming from. I’ll support you in this. Even though I’m not very fond of getting so detached from reality that I lose my humanity like you, I have to do this.”
“I feel like I should be offended.”
“Don’t be. I’m only saying the truth. To you, humans are more a means to an end than actual people. The only ones I feel that you care about are your hosts — Me, Wanda, and whoever else you have. Everyone else is firmly designated under either the tool category or the family of a host category.”
“You aren’t that far from the truth …” Alex said with a small voice.
“Now, how about you show me that core you’ve been harping on about?” Gwen asked. “We’ve introspected enough for this month, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, that works for me,” Alex nodded and held out his hand before a basketball-sized crystal appeared on his palm. “This is the dimensional core that has been completely sucked dry of its true essence.”
“How weird …” Gwen looked at the core with a curious expression. “There are no reflections on it. There should at least be some kind of shade on its surface due to my shadow or the surrounding light, but it looks so paradoxically perfect from every single angle. No shadows, nothing.”
“It could be absorbing all light that hits it and producing its own,” Alex said. “If it is able to match the wavelength of the incident light perfectly, then it can manipulate the reflected rays.”
“That would imply that there is a pre-programmed system in this crystal. Or even a consciousness.”
“Probably a pre-programmed set of directives. If it had a consciousness, Wanda would know. Now, what we need to work on is those pre-programmed directives. As long as we can find a way to replicate them and use the bracelets as a satisfactory medium, we can use this crystal to act as the core of my own version of cosmic energy.”
“You’re still hung up on that theory about the Apexforce, huh?” Gwen shook her head. “It’s a stupid name, and you can’t change my mind about it.”
“How dare you!” Alex acted hurt. “Since you dare to be so impudent in front of this great cosmic entity, then you should be ready for the consequences.”
“Oh yeah, what consequences?” Gwen snorted and crossed her arms. “Do your worst, tentacle monster. I won’t moan a single time.”
“I’ll make you eat those words,” Alex growled, and four tentacles burst out of his back, wrapping around Gwen’s limbs and raising her higher.
“Let go!” She resisted shaking her entire body in the process, but it was useless.
“Playing the brat today, are we?” Alex approached her and held her chin, making her look at him. “It seems you need some more taming.”
“You may break my body, but you will never break my spirit,” she huffed and forcefully looked away.
“We shall see about that, my beloved,” Alex lowered his hand and ripped Gwen’s top off from the neckline, revealing her bare breasts. “Not even wearing a bra. Were you perhaps expecting such a scenario?”
“You appeared in my bedroom, dumbass. I was just about to go to sleep,” Gwen continued, struggling and retorted.
“Is that so?” Alex then placed his hand between her legs. “Why are you wet then? Are you always like this when you sleep?”
“And whose fault is this, huh?” Gwen retorted. “You’ve been gone a week. That’s a whole week’s worth of nightly sex I missed out on. Do you think it’s easy to just abruptly lose your libido? I even ended up masturbating two days ago, but it was so unfulfilling that I couldn’t sleep the entire night. I’ve missed having your cock inside me twice a day every day.”
Gwen’s sudden change confused Alex, but he just rolled with it.
“Fine then, since you’re so excited, I shall fulfill your wish,” Alex ripped away the rest of Gwen’s clothes, leaving her naked as his tentacles held her a few inches above the ground with her limbs spread apart. She was just high enough that she could look him in the eye. “But I’m going to give my attention to this special little hole today,” Alex’s finger slipped lower, teasing her puckered hole as she yelped in response.
